It’s been 10 years since MADONNA‘s Confessions Tour opened at The Forum in Inglewood, California on May 21, 2006.

Instantly loved by fans and praised by critics, Confessions Tour‬ dazzled with a spectacular combination of music, dance, video and high-tech stage designs with music taken mostly from Madonna‬‘s 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor.

Controversy erupted over Madonna’s performance of Live to Tell mounted/crucified on a mirrored cross with a video backdrop of African kids orphaned by the AIDS epidemic in the continent.

The tour grossed over US $194.7 million from 60 shows and 1.2 million audience, becoming (at that time) the highest grossing tour ever for a female artist. That record will only be broken by ‪‎Her Madgesty‬ herself 2 years later with 2008’s Sticky & Sweet Tour.

Confessions Tour is also recognized as the highest-grossing music tour per concert in the 2007 edition of the Guinness World Records, with $3.2 million grossed per concert. It also received the “Most Creative Stage Production” at the Pollstar Concert Industry Awards, as well as, “Top Boxscore” from the Billboard Touring Awards.
