On July 1, 1992, A League Of Their Own opened in theaters and went on to become one of Madonna’s most successful films.

Madonna starred in the film based on the real-life All-American Girls Professional Baseball League in the 1940’s playing the role of center field ‘All The Way’ Mae Mordabito. Her performance in the film along with Tom Hanks, Geena Davis and her best buddy Rosie O’Donnell were generally well-received.
Though not a part of the film’s official soundtrack, Madonna contributed the hit song This Used to Be My Playground which was played during the film’s end credits.
